DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY

                Department of Zoology established in the college from the establishment of this college from 1958. In 1958 the department is affiliated with one of the reputed university of Chhattisgarh, Pt. Ravishankar Shukl University , Raipur. In 1983 when Gurughashi Das Central University formed the college is affiliated with this university, then in 2011 it is associated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee University Bilaspur. In Post graduate level autonomy is started in 1995-1996 and then semester system is adopted in the college and 2014 -2015 the autonomy started at Undergraduate level.

VISION,MISSION AND AIM –

VISION -

            To inculcatethe scientific temper among the students of the Department.

MISSON -

Ø  To Provide practical and experimental based fundamental    knowledgeabout the core field of the subject

Ø   To fulfill thescientific thrust and information about recent advancementsin life-science by organizing specific training workshops, seminars or guestlectures by distinguished personality of related field.

Ø  To update the knowledge of Environment, natural habitat ofvaried animal species, migratory animals and to make students aware of thelocal, regional faunal diversity.

AIM –

Ø  To equip the students with the advanced knowledge and ModernTechnology.

Ø  To boost up the academic performance of the students.

Ø  To improve the learning ability of the students.

Ø  To motivate students towards career in basic science.

Ø  To encourage for field study along with classroom learning.
